<table> </table> <strong><span class="subhead">No title-game rematch</span></strong></p><p>KU senior associate athletic director <strong>Larry Keating </strong>said that there will be no rematch with the Memphis Tigers during next year&#8217;s nonconference season.</p><p>Keating talked with Memphis coach <strong>John Calipari </strong>three months ago about a possible meeting, but Calipari wasn&#8217;t interested at the time. Calipari changed his mind and called Keating recently. But the Jayhawks&#8217; schedule was already full.</p><p><strong><span class="subhead">Jayhawk surprise</span></strong></p><p>CBS&#8217; &#8220;The Early Show&#8221; has been broadcasting live from Greensburg, Kan., and on Wednesday morning focused on the success of the boy&#8217;s basketball team, which played all its games on the road and still went 19-5 and made the Kansas 1A state tournament.</p><p>During one of the segments, the University of Kansas fight song played, then KU seniors <strong>Darnell Jackson, Jeremy Case </strong>and <strong>Sasha Kaun </strong>walked in with assistant coach &#8212; and KU legend &#8212; <strong>Danny Manning</strong>. But the President let it slip that he believes in the <strong>Jessica Simpson </strong>jinx &#8212; attributed by some for the Giants win over Bush&#8217;s home-state Cowboys when the singer-actress was accused of being a distraction to her boyfriend, Dallas quarterback <strong>Tony Romo</strong>.</p><p><strong><span class="subhead">Golf this week</span></strong></p><p>After his two-week checkup, <strong>Tiger Woods </strong>said Wednesday that his doctors believe the arthroscopic surgery on his left knee was successful and he should be able to return to competition with the four- to six-week timetable. He is off crutches and attended game five of the NBA Eastern Conference quarterfinals between Orlando and Toronto on Monday.</p><p>Meanwhile the other guys on the tour are at the Wachovia Championship in Charlotte, N.C., this week. He was 74. Bradley was a major figure in the NASL, then became a college coach.
