Kansas cornerback Talib drafted by Tampa Bay

LAWRENCE | The Tampa Bay Buccaneers picked Kansas cornerback Aqib Talib with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft.

After Pro Football Weekly reported that Talib told NFL officials at the Scouting Combine that he tested positive for marijuana three times while at KU, Talib seemed in jeopardy of dropping out of the first round.

Turns out, the Buccaneers need for a cornerback after losing Brian Kelly to the Detroit Lions was enough to overcome any character concerns about Talib.

Talib picked off 11 passes the past two years for the Jayhawks and was a first-team All-American after a junior year in which he led KU to an Orange Bowl victory.
