Reid Sigmon, formerly the executive director of the Tampa Bay Super Bowl Host Committee, was hired Wednesday as a senior associate athletics director for administration at Kansas State.
Sigmon will oversee all financial, contractual and legal matters and serve as a conduit between the department and the university counsel and the vice president for administration and finance.
He will be paid $130,000 for 2009-10.
K-State athletic director John Currie and Sigmon worked together at Wake Forest in 1996. Sigmon, who played football for the Demon Deacons, began his career in athletics administration there as an operations assistant while Currie was assistant Deacon Club director.
On June 11, Currie placed senior athletic administrators Jim Epps and Bob Cavello on indefinite leave. Their status has not changed.
