KANSAS CITY | Man found shot in vehicle
A man was shot in a neighborhood east of Rockhurst University early Monday evening.
The shooting was reported about 5:40 p.m. near 54th Street and Michigan Avenue. Police found a man in his 20s inside a vehicle with a life-threatening gunshot wound.
Witnesses told police that he was shot after a fight with the shooter.
The shooting suspect left the scene in a gold Cadillac Escalade, according to officer Darin Snapp.

KANSAS CITY | Van’s driver fatally shot
Police identified a woman found shot to death in her van about 10 p.m. Sunday as Yolanda M. Walker, 38, of Kansas City. Officers found her slumped over the steering wheel in the 6600 block of South Benton. The van was in the middle of the street.
KANSAS CITY | Man charged in alleged attack at casino
Clay County prosecutors have charged Manoxay J. Salivanh, 37, of Shawnee with attempted forcible rape in a Nov. 1 incident outside the Ameristar Casino. Salivanh allegedly followed a 23-year-old woman from the casino at 8201 N.E. Birmingham Road into a parking garage elevator and later a stairwell. A bystander heard the victim’s screams and stopped the attack.
Ameristar security officers recognized and arrested Salivanh when he returned Sunday, allegedly wearing the same clothes.
KANSAS CITY | Holiday delays trash pickup
Most trash will be collected on Wednesday, Veterans Day, on the regular schedule, but Kansas City will delay pickup by one day.
Both curbside trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day in Kansas City.
Residents who usually have Wednesday collection will receive the service Thursday. Residents who usually have Friday collection will receive the service Saturday. Kansas City municipal offices also will be closed Wednesday, although the 311 Action Center will be open.
KANSAS CITY | One arrested after school fight
Police arrested a Central High School student Monday after he allegedly hit a security guard in a melee that erupted about 1:05 p.m. at the school at 3221 Indiana Ave. When security guards used pepper spray to break it up, the student hit a guard, police said. Police called for two ambulances to help treat students exposed to pepper spray.
KANSAS CITY | Prostitute helps pimp rob john
A man who followed a prostitute to her apartment Sunday night thought he was going to pay $40 for sex. Instead, the prostitute and her pimp, who had a gun, robbed him of $360 and his car, police said.
The victim said he met the prostitute on Independence Avenue near Brooklyn Avenue. The robbery happened at an apartment near Independence and Tracy Avenue.
