Authorities are looking for a woman feared to have been taken from her rural Atchison County home.

Patricia Kimmi, 58, was reported missing Saturday, Sheriff John Calhoon said. He said authorities believe Kimmi was “forcefully removed” from her home near Horton sometime Friday evening, but he declined to discuss what led to that conclusion.

Kimmi is white with brown hair and blue eyes, 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 160 pounds.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should call Atchison County sheriff’s dispatchers at 913-367-4323.

KANSAS CITY | Officers shoot at armed man

Police were looking for a man whom officers shot at early Sunday after he stepped out of a vehicle and turned toward officers with a gun.

The officers had been chasing the man because they believed he was impaired. Officers first saw him driving erratically near 42nd Street and Woodland Avenue just before 3 a.m. Officers tried to pull him over and the driver refused to stop. The driver hit a parked car in the 4200 block of Bellefontaine Avenue and got out brandishing a firearm, police said.

The officers fired several shots and the man ran east between some houses. Police were not sure if he was hit by gunfire, but he had not turned up at any hospitals.

KANSAS CITY | Victim needs 150 stitches after attack

A 49-year-old man needed 150 stitches to his face early Sunday after a man and woman attacked him in the 400 block of Knickerbocker Place.

The victim was cut from his ear to his mouth.

The victim was visiting a friend and was on the front porch about 2:40 a.m. when a black sport utility vehicle parked in a spot reserved for residents. A man and woman got out of the vehicle and walked up to the porch, where the victim told them they could not park there. The woman slapped him in the face and the man punched him.

As the pair fled, the victim realized his face had been cut. Police said the wound was about 8 inches long and was “severe and deep.” A witness believed the attacker may have had a razor in his hand.

The victim was released from a hospital.

An 18-year-old man was critically injured when a gunman shot him in the neck early Sunday on Benton Boulevard at Truman Road.

The man had been riding in a vehicle with two women after leaving a club about 1:25 a.m. when they noticed a white sport utility vehicle following them. When they stopped at a red light, the SUV pulled alongside and an occupant fired about 15 rounds.

The driver drove directly to a hospital. Police found three bullet holes in the vehicle — one through the windshield and two in the driver’s side door.

GRANDVIEW | Woman freed after man leads chase

Police chased and arrested a man who fled from a vehicle where a woman was being held against her will.

Kansas City police helped stop a vehicle involved with a reported domestic violence assault and kidnapping in Grandview on Saturday night.

Officers from Grandview and Kansas City chased the vehicle, and police put devices in the roadway to flatten its tires. The man eventually slowed down the disabled vehicle and jumped out of it about 11:35 p.m. The vehicle rolled into a parked car as he ran away.

The man only made it about a block to 68th Street and Myrtle Avenue, where officers arrested him.

Police said the woman was “shaken up” but not seriously hurt.
