It’s that time of year again — change your clock, change your batteries.
Along with setting clocks back an hour this evening, fire officials recommend putting new batteries in home smoke detectors. They suggest changing batteries twice a year and testing smoke detectors once a month.
Kansas City residents can get free smoke alarms by calling the Fire Department at 816-784-9999.
Residents of other cities should call their local fire departments to ask if they offer free alarms.
