Hospice care
Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care operates a prenatal hospice care program. A team of specialists, including social workers, nurses and chaplains, will visit a family’s home. The non-profit organization works with a patient’s insurance, but will not turn away anyone who does not have insurance. For more information, call (816) 363-2600.

•Waiting With Gabriel: A Story of Cherishing a Baby’s Brief Life, by Amy Kuebelbeck. The story of a family whose unborn baby was diagnosed with a severe heart problem but who continued the pregnancy with the help of the palliative care offered by an infant hospice center.
