Although the Pleasant Hill firm has invested heavily in its plant and the tools of the trade, CEO Bob Krug said equipment isn’t what sets the company apart from other metal fabricators.

Apps for Samsung Kansas City-based Handmark last week announced the launch of a global venture fund to invest in companies and/or individuals with innovative game ideas for next-generation Samsung mobile phones. Winning ideas will receive up to $250,000 to fund development. Handmark said the fund will be managed out of its Kansas City and London offices in partnership with Samsung Electronics.
